Purpose
The purpose of this Web site is to solicit comments from a scientific audience on work in progress in the field of ecology, and to make certain ecological research datasets available to the scientific community in electronic form.
Prior publication issues
The Ecological Society of America has announced an editorial policy for its electronic journal Conservation Ecology that electronic publication of research results on the WWW does not constitute prior publication. Other journals may have different policies (e.g., Journal of Clinical Investigation, Journal of the American Chemical Society).
